Province Selection
Your province setting determines the HST or GST rate applied when calculating the tax component of your business expenses. This affects both the HST amounts shown on your Transactions page and the input tax credit (ITC) totals in your export.
Set your province to where your business is registered and where you primarily earn income. If you are unsure which rate applies to your situation, consult your accountant.
| Province / Territory | Rate |
|---|---|
| Alberta | 5% GST |
| British Columbia | 5% GST + 7% PST |
| Manitoba | 5% GST + 7% PST |
| New Brunswick | 15% HST |
| Newfoundland & Labrador | 15% HST |
| Nova Scotia | 15% HST |
| Northwest Territories | 5% GST |
| Nunavut | 5% GST |
| Ontario | 13% HST |
| Prince Edward Island | 15% HST |
| Quebec | 5% GST + 9.975% QST |
| Saskatchewan | 5% GST + 6% PST |
| Yukon | 5% GST |
Note: For Quebec, ExpenseFlow calculates the 5% GST component. QST (9.975%) is a separate provincial tax administered by Revenu Quebec with its own filing process.
Tax Year
Select the tax year you are currently tracking. This setting controls which year's data appears on your Dashboard and Export pages by default. You can override the year on each page individually using the year selector.
You can upload and track transactions for multiple years simultaneously. Switching the tax year in Settings changes the default view, but all your historical data remains accessible.
Business Information
Enter your business name and, if applicable, your GST/HST registration number. This information appears in the header of your exported CSV reports, making them easier to identify and share with your accountant.
Deleting Your Data
To permanently delete all your transaction data, go to Settings and click Delete All Data. This action cannot be undone. All uploaded statements and categorized transactions will be permanently removed from our servers.
